Say it ain't so!

TSN just announced that the NHL has suspended Mike Cammalleri (Cammy) for his slash on Islanders' Nino Niederreiter during the Habs' Saturday night's pre-season finale in Quebec City. He will definitely be missed on Thursday for the Season opener in Toronto.

I will not defend Cammy's actions on the ice. That being said, this game sometimes gets players riled up and skirmishes explode. Both players spurred each other on, Cammalleri first angered by what he had deemed a blindsided hit by Niederreiter. I do truly believe that his slash was not intended to injure, but more out of frustration. The islanders player is said to be out with a bruised calf.

It'll be interesting to see what Martin does and who he'll put on the top line.

That being said: T-MINUS 4 DAYS till the puck officially drops to start the 2010-2011 season!!!!
